Afripods processes raw cashew nuts sourced from growers across Tanzania's cashew belt, centred on the Mtwara region in the south. Each batch is steamed, shelled, dried, and hand-sorted before grading.
Kernels are graded by size, measured in the number of kernels per pound — the industry standard used by buyers worldwide. The fewer kernels per pound, the larger each individual kernel.
We process across the full range, from premium whole grades to pieces.
The largest whole kernels — premium grade, reserved for retail and gifting markets.
Our most exported grades — the standard whole-kernel size for bulk international buyers.
Smaller whole kernels, ideal for snack and confectionery use.
Large white pieces and splits — cost-efficient grades for food processing and bakery.
